DEVO. 11.29.24
“But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”” (Numbers 13:30 NLT)
- God had delivered the children of Israel out of bondage and slavery to the Egyptian’s
- God had parted the Red Sea and brought them safely through on dry ground.
- God had swallowed up the Egyptian army right behind them.
- God led them to Mount Sinai, where he established a covenant with them.
- God cared for them, fed them, protected them and fought for them, the whole way.
- Now, they have come to their destination!
- It’s the land that God had promised them and they took time to spy out the land.
- God sent 12 men to explore this promised land.
- The land was just as beautiful as God had promised.
- Ten of the spies said, “But the people living there are powerful…We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak!”(Num. 13:28)
- They agreed that it was just as God said, but then they put a “But” in there.
- Joshua and Caleb also agreed with God, but did not put a “but” in there.
- Joshua said, “Let’s go at once!”
- No “But”
- One group said, “we certainly can’t” and two others said, “We can certainly conquer it!”
- Today, what is God leading you to confess? “You certainly can” or “You can’t?”
- One has to do with his power and the other has to do with your ability!
- What is the promise that He has put in your heart?
- What is the breakthrough that you need to claim?
- Today, kick the “but” out!
- Don’t even stop to listen to the negative reasons that God can’t do it.
- Like Joshua, say, “Let’s go at once…We can certainly conquer it!”
- It’s time to embrace the promises of God!
- Have a great weekend!
