DEVO. 10.05.24
“But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News...” (Colossians 1:23 NLT)
- Continue!
- The Apostle Paul says that you must continue to believe this truth and stand firm in it!
- So, what is the Truth and why is it so important?
- The previous verse has the answer.
- “He(Jesus) has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.”
- The truth is who you are because of what He has done!
- “YOU ARE holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.”
- When you know who you are, if effects your behavior!
- Someone who is a baseball player goes out and plays baseball because that is who they are!
- They don’t go on the field and try to play basketball!
- They aren’t confused as to what they are to do.
- In the same way, “You are Holy!”
- Hold onto the truth of your identity because of what Jesus has done.
- You aren’t trying to be Holy.
- You are HOLY!
- You are set apart by Him and for Him, for His purposes!
- Today, remind yourself of who you are and keep reminding yourself, and “Stand Firm” in that truth.
- “Standing Firm” is the action. It’s how you live!
- You talk Holy, think Holy, speak Holy and act Holy because that is who you are!
- God bless you! Have a great weekend!
