YET
“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! (Habakkuk 3:18-19 NLT)
- This is Habakkuk’s prayer!
- He says, that even when everything turns bad…“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty,”
- Even when everything is bad, God is still good!
- Your situation may change but God does not change!
- We are at the end of a great Mission Camp week with the youth!
- We have served together, ministered together, worshiped together and studied the Word of God together.
- It’s easy to praise God on weeks like this.
- But what about the times when the car breaks down, you go through brokenness, sickness, illness or even death?
- Can you still praise Him?
- It’s important to remember that the God of the mountain top is still the God in the valley.
- He is God at the top and the bottom.
- When you learn to cling to Him at the bottom, you will have a new appreciation for Him at the top!
- In different situations and at different times, you will need to experience different aspects of His character.
- He is an all-powerful, ever-present, all knowing God!
- Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
- He’s a relational, loving God and He wants you to experience Him through every part of your life.
- Today, no matter what you are going through, learn to praise Him.
- Rejoice in the good but still praise Him in the bad!
- He has something to offer you in both places.
- At one point, He will comfort you and at another He will strengthen you.
- At times He will give you the boldness to fight a lion and at other times He will soothe your aching heart.
- Learn to say, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord!”
- Your “Yet” may change but your God is unchanging!
- Have a great weekend!
