DEVO. 06.07.24
“They recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” (Acts 3:10 NIV)
- What is your story?
- Who did you used to be?
- As a follower of Jesus, your story needs to sound like this!
- I used to be lost but now I’m found!
- I used to be broken but now I’m restored.
- I used to be addicted but now I am free!
- I used to be depressed but now I am full of hope!
- I used to be angry but now I am happy!
- Never be afraid to let people know who you are ”used to be”, in order for you to show them, “who you are in Christ”
- The old you is gone and you are now a “New Creation” in Christ Jesus!
- Theresa is an old hymn that says, “This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long”
- What is your story?
- Your story should tell the greatest story of, “Look what the Lord has done!”
- There should be a change!
- There must be a change!
- You can’t truly be delivered on your own!
- You can’t truly be set free on your own.
- Your testimony needs to be, “That’s who I once was, but now…”
- Stop trying to hide your past in order to make yourself look better.
- Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
- Yep, All of us have a messed up past.
- But your past is part of your testimony!
- Your past is part of your story.
- Somebody needs to know, “If Jesus did it in you, then He can do it in me!”
- And it doesn’t matter if your past is anger, bitterness, alcoholic, drugs, addiction, lying, cheating, rage, stealing…It doesn’t matter! Sin is sin!
- It has all been covered by the blood of Jesus if you have repented of it and received His forgiveness.
- Let people know and they see your story so they can say, “you used to be one person, but now, wow! Look what the Lord has done!”
- Give them an opportunity to be filled with wonder and amazement at what has happened to you!
- Let Jesus get all the Glory!
- Have a great weekend!
