DEVO 05.26.24

DEVO. 05.26.24

“And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.”

(‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- Today was such an amazing day in church.

- Not because the building was beautiful or everything was perfect.

- Actually, it was just the opposite.

- It was a building that didn’t have windows.

- The floor was dirt.

- They didn’t have instruments today, so they used a sound system.

- But their hearts were 100% abandoned to the Lord!

- I was reminded of when David brought the Ark of the Covenant to the city of David.

- It says that David danced before the Lord, so much so, that his wife Michal was embarrassed.

- But David didn’t care because he was doing it before the Lord!

- He didn’t care what anyone thought, for all he knew it was just him and the Lord.

- The Ark represented the Lords presence and in the presence of the Lord, he wasn’t holding anything back!

- When Michal made fun of him, he said, “Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes!” (2 Sam. 6‬:‭22‬)

- It challenged me to think, “Do I care more about what people think of me when I worship the Lord, or am I there to praise Him with all of my might?”

- I saw pastors and people dancing, shouting and praising!

- Not a care in the world as to what people thought about them! They were there to praise the Lord!

- And this was right next to the road with a busy market with people walking by.

- Let me tell you, this kind of praise changes you!

- It really, really brings a freedom unlike anything else.

- Once again, their worship marked my life!

- The next time you come to worship, you can either worry about what people think or worry about the Lord.

- You can either please one or the other but you can’t please both!

- Take the attitude of David and say, I’m going after the presence of God and “I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes!”

- Why? Because all that matters is God!

- God bless you, Have a great day!
