DEVO. 04.08.25
“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”” (Luke 12:21 NLT)
- Are you rich?
- It all depends on what you think rich is.
- Some people build up and save up money so that they are financially secure and nothing can touch them but they may not have many rich relationships.
- Jesus does not say that financial wealth is bad, but if it happens at the cost of your relationship with Him it can be devastating.
- Jesus gives the example of a successful, rich farmer who built bigger barns and was financially secure.
- He said to himself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!” (Luke 12:19 NLT)
- The key is that “He said to himself.”
- He didn’t ask God what He should do because he had no relationship with God!
- He thought that all he needed was financial security.
- He had not invested in a relationship with God.
- He had missed the most important part of life.
- God said, “You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’”
- He focused only on the physical and missed out on the spiritual.
- Today, examine your heart.
- Make sure that you have not invested in the wrong thing.
- Make having a rich relationship with God your #1 priority!

- In Verse 31 (AMP) Jesus says, “Strive for and actively seek God’s kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”
- Actively seek, means that it’s not a “one time thing” or a prayer you pray or a “Sunday thing”.
- Seeking the Kingdom of God must be a “daily thing”.
- A relationship with Jesus must be your top priority!
- Seek Him first and He will take care of the rest!
- A rich person is the one who has a rich relationship with God!
- Have a great Tuesday!
