DEVO. 01.09.25
“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
(2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV)
- This morning during our morning prayer time at church I was reading this.
- In today’s scripture King Jehoshaphat discovers that a huge army is coming to fight him.
- This army is described as a “vast army.” They are intimidating and bigger and stronger than him and his people.
- The people of Judah are in danger.
- This doesn’t just effect him, it affects a whole nation!
- He doesn’t know what to do.
- And this next phrase is so important. This is a prayer that we all need to pray.
- He prays, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
- If we would learn to pray that simple prayer, I believe that we would save ourselves from a lot of heartache and problems.
- Whatever you are facing today!
- Whatever has come against you, pray this: “God, I don’t know what to do but I am fixing my eyes on you!”
- Focus on Him!
- The people of God then get a clear Word from God and a man named Jahaziel speaks out and says, “Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
- And then he says, ““You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.”
- When they turned to the Lord, He showed them the strategy and He won the battle for them.
- They won without even fighting and they didn’t have any losses.
- This is how God fights for His people!
- Today, learn from Jehoshaphat and don’t fight Gods battle.
- Allow Him to lead you into victory!
- Watch Him defeat your enemy for you!
- Keep your eyes on Him, today!
- Have a great Thursday!
