DEVO. 01.06.25
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV)
- This Sunday we began our 21 Days of prayer and fasting as a church!
- Today’s teaching will be all about prayer & fasting.
- This was Gods word to Solomon, upon completion of the temple.
- The Lord said, in verse 13, “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,”
- This was in the promised land that He had led them to.
- It was a blessed land, yet God was saying that there may come times that they are cut off from the blessing.
- They would be cut off of the blessing because of their own sin and lack of trust in God.
- But God gives them the solution.
- When there is an unsolvable problem, God has the answer.
- The same solution applies to you and me all these years later.
- So when you find yourself cut off from Gods blessing in your life, here is the answer:
- Humble yourself, pray and seek His face above all else and turn from all sin!
- Repent of all sin. The stuff you know about and the unknown.
- God says, Humble yourself!
- One of the most effective ways to humble yourself is to fast. And one of the most effective ways to get in God’s presence is to pray.
- Fasting cuts you off from ungodly influences and praying connects you to God’s voice.
- When you fast, you are saying “No!” To your flesh and when you pray, you are saying, “Yes” to His voice and His Spirit.
- Fasting and praying is one of the best ways for you to refresh and renew your spirit!
- Fasting and praying will cleanse your souls and renew your spiritual vision!
- God has so much in store for you this year but you need new lenses on your glasses to be able to see what He sees!
- Prayer and fasting are those lenses.
- Today, let me encourage you to pray and seek His face.
- Let me encourage you to grab ahold of the new vision that He has for you!
